Operations

The people we employ have held senior roles in rail freight organisations. They therefore understand the practicalities of running rail freight operations and how efficiencies can be achieved when establishing new flows, or improving existing routes.

Often we are involved in feasibility development of a project to establish if a viable project can exist.  We establish the most economic route, look at the possible train length, covert that into a payload and can then provide an estimated haulage cost, including terminal lift charges and ‘final mile’ road costs if appropriate.

Sometimes we are involved in the design of terminals, where the objective is usually to maximise train turnaround, lower operational costs and maximise the use of the site’s geography.
