We understand the rail freight market, the players within it and the appropriate cost and commercial structures that are employed.
Much of our work leads to the procurement of new contracts – defining new working processes between new (and sometimes familiar) organisations. Often we work alongside the Client’s non-expert procurement officer where our knowledge enables us to find the relevant contacts within the haulier market and run a robust procurement process. We also ensure that the Client has a robust set of performance criteria within the contract to provide haulier incentives to protect from non-performance.
Outside of the immediate haulier community we have a unique understanding of haulage costs. We have developed a validated commodity specific cost model which can advise on expected haulage costs in all of the key market sectors.
